waaughsdufghfgh I haven't gotten to work on this in too long!! Life got very hectic and busy...but in exciting news, I bought a house with my girlfriend and we moved in?!?! Yay!!! ...it took almost a week and a half to get internet set up, and we still don't have the desks set up. I've been sitting on a beanbag with my computer on a coffeetable. Oof.

Hoping to get a new project or two posted soon, maybe even posting while in progress! I've got a few furniture refurb ideas, and when we start doing some renovation I'll likely post about that too. I've got some feral brainworms so I want to get some shrines going, too. Beautiful men have invaded my mind and they won't let me be.

til next time!

Getting a bit more work done! Got this lovely base layout from almost sweet. Definitely gonna spiff it up to fit the aesthetic I'm going for (more plants-y and crafts-y).

I get a bit worried at times that I'm not fitting the "standard practices" of layout or whatever, that I should go look at more of other people's sites to get an idea how to lay out my own...but that's sort of antithetical to the point, isn't it? Neocities is about celebrating early internet, before standardization of things by social media hegemons took over. So if my website is a little wonky, well, that's just how it should be! It's a personal site, for me and by me, so it being laid out just how I think it should is perfect.

I just wish I'd think to work on this more when I had free time at home. I keep wanting to work on it while I'm at work...and html editing is kind of a pain in the butt on a cellphone! Like, yeah it works, but you can't swap between tabs as quickly, the viewport is smaller, copypasting is still a whole pain in the butt. Alas. Maybe I can work more on the content side of things when I'm free at work, and spend time at home working on the layout. Stuff to think about!

Everything's still all rough and bare bones, but I was too excited and wanted to make a first entry right away! I'm Leo, and welcome to Weaves and Sprouts, a home for me and my creative endeavors on the web! I'll mostly be focusing on my sewing projects and documenting the process of those. I'll also post about painting and woodworking from time to time. Eveeeeentually gardening...but with winter bearing down, it'll probably have to wait til next spring.

Weaves and Sprouts just sort of came to me when I was thinking of names. They're both words that reference Final Fantasy XIV (a game near and dear to my heart) but also refer to two things I intend to post about most: textile craft and gardening. In FFXIV, "weaving" is the technique of using multiple skills at a time to keep maximum damage output; "sprout" is a term for new players, referring to the sprout icon next to their names in game.

I might end up doing some nerdy stuff on here too, tbh, seeing other people's sites has me interested in maybe making some character shrines...who knows! We'll see! But if you've stuck around to read all this, thanks for coming! I hope you have fun poking around my little site!
