Since we moved into the house, I've been frequently perusing Facebook marketplace for cheap furniture to pick up. Moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 4 bedroom house means we've got a loooot of empty space, not to mention some of the furniture we got rid of before the move. The other day I saw this TV stand, listed for free!
One of the legs had been broken off in the move, but looked easy enough to fix. For free, it was definitely worth a try! ...and then we ended up breaking the other leg while loading it onto Jess' truck, whoops. Well, time to figure out new legs!
We headed on down to our local secondhand building supply store, and found some great cone-shaped furniture legs that'll suit this stand just right. I forgot to grab a before picture, but the original stain was a dark reddish, nothing at all like the colors on our stand. No problem, just needs a good sand and spraypainting. I sanded them all down, then covered the gold caps in tape for spraying.
The tips I'll be repainting with gold paint, as well. The original tips were pretty scuffed up, and I couldn't get them looking much better.
